Raisin reddish brown in color with a heavy haze. After vigorous pour per the directions on the can, a tall creamy, Guiness-like, off white foam with excellent retention. Bready and toasted malt aromas. No hop aromas. Medium bodied with low carbonation and light, smooth feel. Crusty bread and toasted malt flavors with light toffee flavors. Light earthy bitterness followed by light dried fruit notes and maltiness. Finished dryly with bready malt, earthy hop notes and a touch of fruitiness. Easy drinking with good malt character.

Vault Brewing Co. "Pride Of Yardley"
$4/half pint via cask at the brewery on 14 April 2018
Notes: Cask. Slightly hazy reddish chestnut brown body beneath a creamy head of off-white that holds well and leaves some very nice sheets of broken lace. The aroma is malty, toasty, toffee-ish, fruity (cherry), and leafy and tea-like. The flavor follows in exactly the same way. Nicely balanced by a moderate bitterness that leads to a dry finish with some leafy and tea-like notes lingering. Medium-light in body and velvety smooth with a moderate, natural carbonation. I wonder if it would be as good served from a keg via CO2. Really well done. Nicely rounded. For fans of English-style ales this one's a real winner.
