Bear Hug is super silky smooth with roasty toasty nutty notes, and a semi-sweet chocolatey finish. Each sip tastes like a warm and fuzzy embrace.

16oz can into a pint glass.NO freshness dating.

Looks very good in the glass. Black body with a generous tan head. This persists throughout, though only leaves a film of lacing

Malty aroma with a very faint coffee note.

On tasting, it's a very bitter roast here, almost burnt. Not what I expect from an oatmeal stout. A bit thin as well.

Mouth below medium, finish a bitter charred roast.

Overall, like more body and certainly more smoothness from an oatmeal stout. Unlikely to revisit this one.

It's a tidy pour of the contents of a pint can into a clear glass Imperial pint mug. As there's only a modest, but enduring light biege head, all fit nicely within one pour. The color of the brew is the standard black coffee brown and it's opaque. This might even be a little darker than most oatmeal stouts. The aroma is mostly of roasted malt and a hint of alcohol. Oatmeal isn't particularly there for the nose. The drinking experience includes a moderate to thin mouthfeel, a malty sweetness, a roasted malt/hop bitterness and just a little oatmeal softening. This is just a very nice oatmeal stout, with nothing outstanding, nor detracting. Oatmeal usually adds just a little more body and a little more softening of the bitterness than it does here. So, this isn't among the best, but it's far from being an unworthy try. The glass lacing is much like the body, OK, but not really noteworthy.

16 oz can, Nitro Can, but no widget

pours almost black in color, with the nitro "cascade", with thick creamy tan colored head. great head retention. Really nice cocoa and mild coffee flavors. full bodied, smooth feel. The nitro works well, I drank at about 50 degrees for more flavor since nitro usually mutes the aroma.

Solid black. Brown tinge. Mocha head. Glorious nitro cascade. Subtle smells of coffee, mocha, choco and roasted malts. Tastes of huge marshmallow and milk chocolate. Bittersweet. Earthy. Feel is pillowy and soft. Thick bodied but immensely drinkable. I adored this one.
