absolutely one of the best paradox beers I've had to date, which i suppose isn't saying a whole lot, but this one is a success on many levels. the use of peach is brilliant, very hard to get so much of that flavor into a beer, but it happens here wonderfully. so much peach on this, especially in the finish, very authentic fruit flavor, sweet, but to the right level, extremely well done. the looks and feel of this though are another story. the bottle opens with cake yeast all around the rim packed thick. the pour is clearish, but the beer is dead still, missing bubbles entirely. the feel too lags, not a hint of carbonation, which really would have made this one a winner. the funk is there, as is the sourness, the same as many of their beers, but i works here. the wine barrels also have a ton of influence, its really tannic and acidic, largely from the wine i must imagine, and i think it helps to cut the sweet peach and to add a pleasant layer. if this beer had some carbonation and wasn't quite so thin, i think it would be the best thing paradox has put out.
