this is hands down the best paradox beer ive had, no infection issues here. id rate the appearance much lower because of the nasty white yeast particulate floating around the surface, but the color of this is rich and shiny black obsidian, and there is a thin half inch of mocha foam that gives the whole thing a very regal look. the nose here is a great mix of both bitter and sweet orange peel, and there is a dusting of dry unsweetened cocoa as well. the flavor is about the same, with a rich oaky property trying the citric orange freshness together with the elegant chocolate on the back end. a very impressive specimen and blend of flavors. its a lot like those orange foiled chocolate covered oranges you get at holiday time. a mild acidity to this, likely from the orange, balances the malt bitterness and density as it swallows. a really nice brew. not much carbonation but with all the body slickness i dont miss it much. paradox has produces a lot of messy letdowns, but this one is very very good.
