some of paradoxs better work. this is a sour ale with citra and amarillo hops aged in wine barrels. its well hoppy, and complex enough for anyone. golden brassy color, not much carbonation or head on it, but a great nose of citrusy and floral hops, really fresh. they come out before the wild ale elements, which only smell a little bretty but taste quite sour, especially in the finish. the hops carry all the way through the beer which is nice, and they are really fruity. the wine barrel i don't think adds much here, some tannic acidity, but not a lot of other flavor, and it may reduce the carbonation, which hurts the cube for me. i need more bubbles in my sours, and this one is a bit flat. the medium body is nice though, and this stands out as one of the better beers to come out from paradox lately. no notable off flavors, which doesn't always happen with them. this one has me excited for skull 7, a smoked sour aged in scotch barrels.
