This beer pours a shocking motor oil black with a thin brown head. The nose is composed of vinegar, raisins, prunes, and a touch of green apple. The flavor features a high degree of acidity, followed by a raisin and prune taste, with the smokey stout notes coming through on the finish. The mouthfeel is tannic and smooth. Overall this is an assertive and unusual sour, definitely a beer for those already initiated into the world of sour beer.
