some of the better paradox beer to come out lately. a five beer blend, approaching a flanders red or sour brown hybrid, vinegar acidity, dried fruit notes, a deep burgundy color and a lovely tall white head with ring lacing as i sip it down. a nose of fired cherries and lacto lemons, its strong and rather clean, not particularly oaky for a barrel project, but appetizing enough. the flavor is solid, lots of the cherry character and a brightness to the feel for a dark colored stronger ale. I'm not sure what beers were blended, but my guess is the whole here is greater than the sum of its parts, given that i have not had five sour paradox beers that i like this much. some jammy fruits in the middle with the lactic acidity creeping in on the back end. i get chocolate malt too, in pretty hefty dose, but it works well. cleaner dryer finish too for a sour makes this one of their success stories. expensive beer, but they all are these days. worth picking up if you've written off paradox, this is redeeming to a reasonable degree.
