500 ml bottle into a tulip glass. Had 9/29/17.
Pours a bright, somewhat cloudy yellow/gold, with a decent, but quickly dissipating head and not much lacing. Smells sour and tart. Aromas of malt, yeast, wine, oak, some apples, a little funk. Light ginger at first, much more as it warms. The taste is wine, blood orange, malt, oak, light apples and orange zest, ginger- again, more as it warms. Less sour and tart than the nose. Smooth, appropriately carbonated, a good body.
The strong ginger and wine make a good combination, the blood orange could have been a little more prominent, as it was a no-show in the aroma.

500mL bottle from Sprayberry Bottle Shop (Marietta, GA). 12.99. 2016 release. Served in a Wicked Weed snifter.
Pours a hazy pale orange with a little more than a finger of fizzy white head. The bubbles quickly crackle away, leaving a few surface wisps, almost no collar and zero lacing.
Smells of ginger, orange zest, soured pale malt and some white wine.
Vaguely bitter ginger meets tangy citrus right away in the flavor. Earthy orange, soured grain, grape skin any slightly funky wet wine barrel.
Medium body with fairly dull carbonation. Citrus-candied ginger and sweetly sour wine barrel in the finish.
Blood Rooted is solid work but nowhere near a favorite of mine from Paradox. I like the citrusy blood orange character but ginger is unfortunately more often a miss than hit with me.

Pours an effervescent honey color with a sliver of cream colored head. Zero head retention & lacing Stays effervescent throughout
S: Some citrus & ginger, orange blossom once warm, aroma does fade then too, alas
T: Follows the nose, nice & dry as well, seems to really work. Ginger, tangerine & a little safron, a little pear & honey dryness & just a bit of orange tartness
MF: Medium body, delicate carbonation
Drinks pretty easy despite the ABV & complexity. best one from these guys I've tried, not super tart or funky
