an interesting beer, this one.
Pours a light caramel color with pretty solid head. Clean and clear looking.
Aroma consists of apple skin, pine, some phenol, and oak.
Flavor is light and dances around the aroma. Apple and pear skins, pine, citrus and the plastic is very faint. Oak smooths it out, perhaps a bit too much.
Easy drinking. A bit tart, the bite is light. Quaffable. Pretty good brew right here

Bold, orange body with a rich, sticky, clinging white head and beautiful carbonation. Medium malt aroma infused with a piney, fruit-like scent; somewhat peppery. Warm, bitter, buttery flavor and feel with an interesting bitter back-bite.
An interesting and complex ale. I'm sure the wine barrel aging process contributes greatly to the overall character. There's a definite phenolic edge (subtle but still there) to the taste the subtracts from an otherwise nifty little beer. I'd still go for another one, though -- for the adventure...

Beer pours a hazy orange-red color with fluffy thick head of foam that is easily swirled back into place.
The aroma is a balanced mix of malt, fruity aromas, pines like hops, there is a lot of complexity and depth.
The beer tastes of biscuit, some candi sugar, and toffee. The finish is hoppy and slightly bitter with a mix of pine an citrus. Like the aroma its is well balanced.
Mouthfeel is very smooth and is medium.
Very enjoyable beer overall. The depth and complexity of the taste and aroma make it a great beer to sip and explore over a session. The flavor real evolves as the beer warms.
