Tangy and powerful brew that is more of a dark roast rocket fuel than a beer. Opaque dark brown in the tall goblet. The smell of whiskey hits you right away. Not much foam.
Heavy with malt, but not overly sweet. At first sip the booze is quite insistent, more like a Depth Charge with a shot of Jim Beam in a big glass of Obsidian stout. Dry hoppy finish but not particularly bitter. Some sourish charred grain notes. After some sipping this becomes a faded roasted malty taste with bitter unsweet cocoa.
Strangely watery sensation in spite of all the octane. Mushroomy black tarry aftertaste. From the 750 ml swingtop purchased at Grapevine Liquors in Denver.

So, the other Hell for Stout was aged in wine barrels, this guy right m'here was aged in whiskey barrels (Breckenridge whiskey)
Pours a nice dark color. The foam is akin to Yeti....but of course, not quite. A bit soapy and looser. Settles to an off tan collar.
Aroma sets this stout apart from any I've had. It's like a dark chocolate, mocha, Nutella, vanilla blend. How interesting. Touch of smoke and caramel.
Dagnabbit, this is a unique brew. That mocha, Nutella, Dutch Chocolate (?) coffee thing really hangs in there. Semi sweet, but with a tug on it. For 10%, this is easy drinking...IF you like that chocolate stuff. The mocha goes into hiding a bit as it drinks, but the dark chocolate comes in more. Toasted dark bread come in, too.
Very nice beer. Will get some more of this one.
