a sour ale with black currants in it, really well conceived and rather well executed. one of the more memorable skull beers for me. almost neon pink in color, with some chill haze and basically no head at all, its real flat, but most of these are. a nose as sour as any belgian lambic, just puckery and super tart, but not at the expense of the fruit, its still supremely fruity, maybe not distinctly currant, but its nice. the flavor is solid too, fruity without being too sweet, and sour as heck without being particularly caustic or anything. lemon and winey oak round it out, complex but clean, summery i think, and having aged pretty well over time here. my critique with this one is the same as others in this series, there are no bubbles at all. beer this sour needs to sing on the palate for me. this one comes off more like juice in feel, but the flavors are some of the best paradox has concocted. it gets a bit heavy on the sour when it warms up a little, but i was impressed with this overall.

Thanks to GRG1313 for sharing this one at his tasting.
Pours a murky reddish-orange with a foamy off-white head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, caramel, slightly sour dark fruit, and bourbon aromas. Taste is much the same with sour fruit and bourbon flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of woody bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is an above average beer that is a decent barrel aged sour but nothing too special.

750 ml bottle, bottle 242 / 1100. Pours hazy orange ruby amber with a small off white head that quickly goes to a thin collar that leaves a little lacing.
The aroma is sweet, tart fruit (cherry and tropical fruit) with some musty brett.
The flavor is sweet and tart cherry (like cherry pie) with a good amount of sourness and some brett. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with low carbonation.
Overall, pretty good - like a sweet cherry pie with some sourness.
