Clear pale gold with a nice soapy head. Corn and light cereal nose. Light malt body, decent flavour for style. Pleasant crispness. OK for style.

Golden clear in colour with a good carbonation and average head.
Smell yeasty; hoppy with cereal and well balanced.
In mouth the cereals hit you first with some banana esters.
Not bad

Tallboy can from the LCBO; dated Aug 24 2018 and served barely chilled.
Pours a clear pale golden colour; highly effervescent, with a full inch of foamy white head situated atop. It fades off over the next five minutes or so, bequeathing a thin cap and creamy-looking collar, as well as a messy coat of lovely lace. Looks like a fine lager to me. Its aroma is clean and honestly more hop-forward than I was expecting - it has a nice grassy, herbal, lightly spicy quality that reminds me of certain Euro (Czech) pilseners. Other than that, I'm getting hints of orchard fruit and pale barley malt sweetness.
More of an APL than a light lager - not that I'm complaining, because that mostly means it's more flavourful (and less bland) than I would've anticipated. Light suggestions of apple skin come through at first, alongside a gritty, grainy pale malt sweetness, with grassy hay rounding out the tail end of the sip in a subtle-but-pleasing manner. A light, earthy bitterness and some spicy hops tie it all together, leaving the aftertaste feeling dry. Light-bodied, with average carbonation levels that provide a slight crispness - a little more bite would actually help here, as it feels a little too smooth and soft for this type of beer. Still, it's effortlessly easy to drink, which is exactly what I want from a pale lager.
Final Grade: 3.77, a very respectable B+. I can't find much to complain about in the case of Cassel's Franco Craft Lager. No it's not the most exciting beer you'll ever try, but that's hardly a shock for this style - and at least this one has the courtesy to include a proper dose of continental Euro-style hop notes, something that most of these light lagers (craft or otherwise) often lack. Good stuff - I'd certainly drink it again, but most imported pilseners are a fair bit cheaper so I don't know how often I'll be returning to this.
