New Orleans is located at latitude 30° north, longitude 90° west. This is the most geographically accurate location of the finest food, music and round-the-clock good times on earth. Abita created 30° 90° to celebrate the way we love to live in New Orleans. This is a crisp gold lager that is brewed with pilsner malt and hopped and dry hopped with Cascade hops. It has a light body and color with a nice citrus hop aroma and flavor.

The CANQuest (tm) is a little disappointed by this one, having just completed a school project involving LatLong! It should correctly read "30°N 90°W" since its CANterpart of 30°S 90°E puts you in the middle of the IO between Africa & Australia. CANversely, 30°S 90°W puts you in the South Pacific Ocean, nearer to South America & 30°N 90°E puts you in Tibet, China. Hmm.

From the CAN: "Coordinates to a Good Time"; "Gold Lager"; "A crisp Gold Lager with a light color and body, brewed with Pilsner Malt. Hopped and Dry Hopped for Citrus Aroma and Flavor."

This all sounded quite good so I Crack!ed open the vent & beCAN a slow, gentle C-Line Glug into the awaiting glass. I was rewarded with the quick formation of two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, bone-white head with good retention that left lots of nice lacing in its wake. Color was Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 - 5) with NE-quality clarity, prompting an impromptu visit from The Gelt Gang of Mammon, Midas & Croesus, all clamoring for a taste. Mouthfeel was medium, about on par for the style. The taste had a clean grapefruit citrusiness which was highly refreshing. Finish was clean & dry & a real CANdidate for the beach-bound cooler next Summer. Mmm.

12 fl oz CAN (single) acquired at a Rouses Market in New Orleans for $1.99 USD.

"Gold lager brewed with pilsner malt." "Hopped and dry hopped for citrus aroma and flavor."

Drinks easy with a subtle lemon-citrus hop profile atop an otherwise generic 2-row barley malt backbone. Not grainy or adjunct-redolent. Off-flavour free. Very simplistic and shallow, but hey - it's Abita.

Clean, medium-bodied, crisp (to the point of overcarbonation, actually). Not oily, astringent, rough, harsh, or scratchy. A bit of a lighter easier mouthfeel would be preferred.

Drinkable but rather simple and empty. I wouldn't call it insipid, but aside from the lemon-citrus flavour there ain't a lot going on in this.

Purchased in Ruston, LA while visiting my daughter at LA Tech this past weekend. Medium straw gold with a decent white head. Smell is very bright, very slight citrus smell from the cascades slight floral honeyish from the pilsner. The taste is spot on, they go down super easy. Like the smell, they taste bright and clean. No adjunct detected. This is by far my favorite from Abita. I don't get a lot of their selections in TX but I'm getting more of this if I see it.
