Watch out! Jockamo is back, with a vengeance. This sour IPA has clean, tart notes of citrus, but it stomps and shouts with Centennial and Amarillo hops. Brewed with pale and caramel malts, and American ale yeast, Jockamo's Revenge has a flavor as bold as the Mardi Gras Indians who march through New Orleans in feathers and beads.

This beer marks the home stretch of/for Uinta Abita New Beer This Sunday, Bro./GEN Woody (Week 721)? I am gassed & running outta gas at this point. It has been a great day, but to all days must come an end.

I Pop!ped the cap per normal procedure, followed by a slow, gentle, C-Line pour into the awaiting glass. I was rewarded by/with just over two fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, eggshell-white colored head with great retention, leaving loads of lacing in its wake. Color was a beautiful solid-Amber (SRM = > 7, < 9) with NE-quality clarity. Nose was not all that sour, but it reeked of grapefruit! Phew! You had best have my affinity for grapefruit if you are steeping up to the plate on this one. Mouthfeel was medium, about on par for the style. The taste immediately got my attention with its grapefruit tartness, but I was really digging the way that it remained bitter & tart, rather than sour. I meet your Revenge with a vengeance, Jockamo! This was the kind of melding of tart & hoppy that I really dig. Man, it was palate cleansing, but at the same time, the bitterness lingered in all new ways, creating a wonderful dryness. Finish was dry and while it would clearly not be for everybody, it was a great drink to wind up the day. YMMV.

Pours hazy, gold in color with one half inch head. Taste is pineapple, lime, blood orange and sour mix. Sour with a slightly bitter finish, light bodied, moderate carbonation. Interesting beer. Cannot say I have ever had anything like it. All sorts of good tropical flavors..unsure if I would want a six though.

-Sour ipa in spiegelau ipa glass brewed with grapefruit.
A: Frumpy topping of toothpaste white coloring is 0.25 inches and well holding. Bright autumn orange coloring is dense with a quickly paced rate of effervesce within. Moderate dense with a sticky lacing on the vessel.
S: The grapefruit is fresh and tart on the nose, like freshly squeezed juice, really prominent of good strength. Some orange-wet grassiness.
T: Sticky grapefruit resins , tart, with a good rate of acidity. Tart oranges and sticky pine along with some sour caramel backing. Grapefruit peel adds a bit of dryness, along with some sour apricot and sour citrus. Green apples, pears and guava rounds things out.
M: The mouthful was quite sticky, with lots of resins and a medium full consistency. Sticky malt, thick and creamy base, like an avocado.
O: Overall very fruity and sour, good mix, sour tropical and grassiness with lots of ipa like citrus. Moderately good.

12 oz bottle in Florida.
Pours hazy amber with a decent head.
Strong aroma with a disturbing quality. The flavor is much better than the aroma suggests, but still has funky notes to go with the hoppy IPA base.
Medium body with medium-high carbonation.

This beer does not work at all. A sour grapefruit Belgian IPA??? No thank you. I actually didn't get a lot of Belgian yeast flavor, but the sour grapefruit IPA mix is a confused muddled mess. All the elements are there and add up to a fail of a beer.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. The appearance is a slightly cloudy bright golden yellow color with a small white head. The aroma is tart fruit. The tasre is very tart and acidic. Hard to distinguish the actual flavor.
