Served in a snifter at the Avery brewery.

Appearance: orange-amber and hazy to the point of no transparency. Flat looking - not a single bubble.

Aroma: lacto - slight funk and candied ginger.

Flavor: ginger and fresh-squeezed lemon. The tartness is on par with a 50/50 of water and Real Lemon juice from those plastic lemons in the grocery store produce aisle. This beer lacks much complexity and has only minimal funk.

Mouthfeel: medium-light. This beer is think, just on the heavier side of the light spectrum.

Overall: good but not enough so to be in a top tier sour flight tasting.

my favorite beer i have had from avery in some time i think. amazing all the way though. a sour blonde type with a ton of ginger in it. its spicy and fresh, about as ginger forward as any beer i have had, super intense in nose and taste, almost hot going down. its only exacerbated by a highly acidic base beer, pungent lacto and some boozy wood as well in here. the nose is so intense its hard to even smell it real deep, which is a pretty cool sensation for a beer to have, especially one that isnt all that strong on the alcohol. its hazy and orange and heady in the glass, it looks as delicious as it tastes almost. its incredibly sour, and incredibly heavy on the ginger, so if you like those two things, this is a beer for you. i would put this up against similar offerings from heavy hitters like the rare barrel, and it would outperform i think. perhaps my favorite ginger beer i have ever had. i really wish avery would start putting these really trippy beers into bottles, this is some of their best work and nobody will ever taste it that doesnt get lucky in the taproom. seems a shame. i would be enormously proud of this if i made it...
