An authentic Belgian-style white ale, this Rascal is unfiltered and cleverly spiced with coriander and Curaçao orange peel producing a refreshingly zesty classic ale. As our flagship beer and silver medal winner of the Belgian Witbier category at the World Beer Cup 2018, we pay tribute to the history and time-honored tradition of the steadfast Belgian Witbier by brewing White Rascal with the same Belgian ingredients used by 15th century brewers from the village of Hoegaarden. The tales and images of demons are popular in Belgian folklore and we follow suit with our own White Rascal.

12oz can, painted label. Advisory stamp on bottom is 'DRINK ME!!! PLEASE 04/16/2026', consumed on 5/23/2026.
Unfiltered, cloudy, straw colored body. Thin finger of white colored head, and this becomes a see-through cap and high ring. Leaves behind irregular lacing webs.
Aroma is standard for style with tangy wheat malt, coriander spice, and pencil eraser yeast smells. Slight citrus.
Taste follows the nose and includes some malty sweetness. Flavors of tangy wheat malt, citrus orange and lemon, coriander spice, and yeast expressions that include banana and that Belgian yeast funk. Low bitterness. Tanginess continues in the aftertaste.
Medium mouthfeel. Has the dryness that comes from the working yeast. Clean pass through in the mouth. Good carbonation.
More sweet than some witiers but has the expected flavors and nose. Easy drinking.

This is appropriate for style...
It's very Heffe Weiss beer like...
Distinct flavors of yeast and Ester's of wheat...
A subtle sweetness and the light metallic taste... Very familiar...
There's a light spiciness I think of coriander...
Feel... Seems light by color but... The sweetness and slight lack of balance makes it settle heavier than one would expect.

(review from October 2017) Nice, light wit with coriander, slight haze, just a hint of the banana/clove taste & a slight whiff of a Belgian yeasty finish. Great heft on the palate

Having this one on draught.
A hazy straw pour with a decent head and beautiful lacing all the way to the bottom.
Enjoyable toasted malt flavor complimented with mild Belgian yeast flavors and mild hops bitterness. Creamy mouthfeel on the backend. Pleasantly smooth and refreshing, and easy drinker.

6/6/25 - (Draft - Dunning Pour House) (Chicago, IL) Draft Notes: Price not listed, 16 oz draft pour into shaker pint glass.
Appearance: Poured to the rim, so no head. Unfiltered golden blonde pour minimal carbonation. 3.5
Aroma: Banana clove, mild in strength, light coriander. Nice. 3.75
Taste: Consistent with the aroma, banana, clove and coriander in that order. OK. 3.5
Mouthfeel: Light and easy ABV wise, lightly fizzy carbonation. Sweet, syrupy taste and body, medium plus. Banana clove and coriander start to finish. 3.25
Overall: Perhaps I’d have a different experience via packaged. Liked the flavors, but too sweet and syrupy, almost like pop. 3.25

Huge carbonation. Takes a long time to disappear. Immediate huge notes of orange and maybe roses but it has enormous floral notes to it. It’s good but the carbonation is frustrating.

Cloudy yellow color, nice white head. Wheat, spices and yeast in aroma. Fresh citrus notes in sweet taste, with coriander and wheat. Thirst quenching, refreshing beer.
