Seeing is believing when it comes to this bright and juicy brew. Desert Dawn is loaded with tart wild berry, dark fruit flavors, and spice that are just as vibrant as the color of the beer itself. This thirst quenching, light bodied treat will have you smelling the scent of elderberries while dancing on the wind.

Poured from a 12 OZ can into a pint glass. The appearance is a dark red with a small pink head. The aroma is mostly berry with some yeast. The taste is berries, grapes and yeast.

12oz can, sample from the brewery.
Deep red hue, looks like straight juice aside from the thin lacing on top. Elderberry in the nose, juicy with a faint bready and yeasty tone which lets me know there could be a Saison within. Quick berry tartness slowly fades, a little earthy with wild dark berry flavor. Some cracker-like malt keeps it beery, still lots of berry flavor though. Not really getting a Saison feel here though this brew ends up being tasty.

Drinking it from a can I bought at a gas station. It's not a bad beer. Another reviewer mentioned "earthy" and that's a good word for it. Never even seen an elderberry so a beer with elderberries was worth a try. Could use a little more beer flavor if that makes sense. If they sold this near my house I would buy it again, just not all of the time.

12oz can from Total Wine (Kennesaw, GA). 1.79. The canning date is indiscernible but this was released 02/2017. Served in a Barrel and Barley teku.
Pours a beautiful but opaque bright maroon with a finger and a half cap of pale pink head. Despite the lingering thin, patchy haze and narrow collar, no lacing find purchase on the glass.
The nose is full of fruity yeast esters, earthy berries and grainy bread.
The elderberry flavor surfaces first and is predominant throughout. White grapes, pale grains, vague earth and subtle Belgian yeast round out the taste.
Medium light feel with strong carbonation. Elderberries, fruity and estery yeast in the finish.
I'm not even a fan of saisons but Southbound keeps making good ones. The earthy berries add a gorgeous color and pleasant fruit notes to Desert Dawn. Glad I decided to give this one a try.

Pours deep red, almost garnet, with hints of purple. Head of large, pink bubbles, dissipates quickly.
Aroma of stone fruit, berries, floral and somewhat spicy with an earthy edge.
Tart, but not sour. High carbonation, dry with a very clean finish.
All in all, a very refreshing and easy-drinking beer.
Sampled 2/21/17 from a can. Label art is bright and vibrant, easily catches the eye.
