Crisp and clean with subtle clover and honey notes over a solid, yet light foundation of farmhouse funk. This is a Saison that is perfect for the sunshine.

Had this on-tap in a tulip at Special Brews in Lynnwood, WA. This is billed as a barrel-aged saison.
Appearance: medium golden-orange hue with a moderately strong haze and a thin finger of ivory foam. Quite nice.
Smell: light malt with lots of grassy character and plenty of farmhouse funk, though not so much as to be dank. There's a fruity, pear-like aroma here, too, which I really like.
Taste: malty with hints of vanilla and quite a bit of diacetyl butteriness. Combined with the grassy, vernal character, along with the unremitting but non-oppressive funk, though, the diacetyl contributes a balance that actually works. This is not a wimpy beer.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and a pretty good creaminess. Works for me.
Overall: this is much more funky and saison-like than a lot of the local saisons we get up here in the Pacific Northwest. I think this is a successful and quaffable brew.
