Red Wingers know that getting through a hard day’s work demands sturdy footwear and a good beer afterwards. Over a century ago, the city answered that call by providing comfortable work boots that were as tough as the people that kept Red Wing’s industries moving. Today, we’re answering that call with our Irish-style red ale: a beer that’s reddish-brown in color, smooth in texture, and always quality-made – just like those boots.

On tap at brewery. Disclaimer: I normally don't like reds, but this is really good.
Pours a nice copper color, head recedes fast. Taste is a balanced malt/hop combination, with the malt sweetness up front, fading into some light bitterness. Some earthy/nutty/bready tones as it slowly leaves the tongue. Well done.

Draught @ Brewpub. this one pours a very dark amber that is almost brown. There was a thin tan head that left a little lacing. It has a good nose. Some grain, earthiness and subdued malts. The taste is also good. There is a touch of bitterness, grains, malts and a slight caramel sweetness in the finish. Nice.

Received a gift growler from my mother-in-law. How cool is that? This was her favorite among the options available the day she visited the brewery.
Their website description is helpful and is a good read: http://www.redwingbrewing.com/our_craft_beers.htm.
Poured into an imperial pint glass.
Steady pour yielded a two-finger head. Nice head retention with a dark red -- almost brown -- color.
Neutral smell -- spring water? A note of chocolate? Not much there.
Taste -- good malt presence up-front. Some biscuity presence with a nice hop presence in the back end. Dry finish. Good balance.
Mouthfeel: Creamy, full-bodied up front; sensation fades toward the end.
This Irish Red is accurate to style and is a solid creation. Very drinkable -- this pairs well with college football and a cool, rainy fall evening. Good work by the Red Wing crew!
