Hazy with a brown-amber color. Minor but lasting head. Slippery, temporary spots for lace.
First impression is of unbuttered white toast. I get some sweet, honey-like afternotes. No hop; it smells like it’s a Bock.
True to the smell, this is a sweet, mildly toast barley malt type of beer. Again, the hop is missing initially, but shows mildly in the swallow. Short aftertaste. The body leans to the thin side; the carbonation is elevated. Overall, a pedestrian beer.

330ml bottle into Tulip
BB 5/16/19
Pours a cloudy light brown with thin-to-no head
Bready aroma, floral, cinnamon clove
Taste is fruit forward, followed by breadiness, with a Belgo-yeasty finish
Feel is light bodied, below average carbonation, drinkable
Overall I enjoyed this beer and the range of flavors

My first brewed with water from the Sea of Galilee. (It has freshwater; the Dead Sea is salty.)
Ambree Looks unappealing with lots of floating sediment.
Smells mostly of fruit and this continues in the Taste; using hops for balance. Refreshing enough.
Alexander's Ambree lacks the smooth mouth of the original d'garde (and that may be from the water, despite the brewer using reverse osmosis). Because I get an odd after-taste, I would not choose to have this with subtle foods.
For OA points, I pile it on for this is my first brew from Israel. And I appreciate their sincerity in starting a craft brewery in a climate that mostly drinks wine. On Alexander's website (hit the English button unless you read Hebrew), I was intrigued by their argument that beer in moderation is good for you. There is little relation to weight gain and moderate beer drinking. Let's say the research they cite is correct.... how do I get the current weight off ? If the answers works, you get big-time OA points.
