Sloop & Beer World Collaboration Beer "Cannonball Comin" hits Beer World stores in Kingston, Catskill and New Windsor New York. This first ever collaboration beer is now available limitedly for samples and growler fills! A mouth-kicking 10.5% ABV, "Cannonball Comin" is an American Strong Ale that will definitely hit you hard! Loaded up with Galaxy and Falconer’s Flight hops and balanced by a boatload of malt goodness. The name incorporates the rich history of warfare on the Hudson River , in addition to being inspired by the high octane level of alcohol (!!), it is also the partying war cry of Caddyshack’s Carl Spackler. The logo was conceived by Jay Wulff and designed by local artist Graham Woods. Get over to Beer World and try this extremely limited brew while it’s around!

I had the grand pleasure of sampling this beer and subsequently filling a growler STAT post sampling. I am normally not a "hoppy girl" but Sloop and Beer World knocked this one out of the park. The weight of the beer in your mouth is chewily satisfying and the strong, sweet alcohol finish is something to rave about. I am curious to the IBUs - I HATE that the breweries don't post that info consistently. I need to know everything! I am going to say (from my own beer snobbery) that this registers in at approximately 60-70 in the IBU range. This beer has a big personality and will be a memorable one in my tabernacle. This somewhat reminds me of a slightly lighter bodied version of Crossroad's (Athens, New York) "Homewrecker" which is now currenly on tap at the brewery - that one is about a % less in ABV and a shade or 2 darker.
