Our version of a Bohemian / Czech style pilsner, Hoppy Pils leans less on bitter hop flavor and more on bright, floral hop characteristics. The lightly kilned German malt provides a rounded, delicate backbone to perfectly showcase these hop nuances. With a bouquet of noble hop aromatics and a crisp finish, Hoppy Pils is the perfect beer to satisfy a thirst of any size.

Wow! Where did yesterday Gose?!? I set off on what I envisioned as a short exCANsion back to The CANQuest (tm) to drink some Goses & Pilsners, both towards Leveling up for badges on sister (?) site, Untappd. Once again, it was like tugging on a loose thread on a sweater & having everything unravel! The entire day was spent drinking seven (7) Goses & one (1) whole Pilsner. 8=( Every time that I moved a sixer around, CANother Gose appeared! Well, today, I am starting out by taking my Pils, lemme tell ya!
From the CAN: "Sloop Brewing Co. presents Hoppy Pils".
I was so excited to Crack! open the vent on this one & begin a slow, gentle C-Line Glug into my favorite Pilsner glass that I could hardly CANtain myself! I loved watching it quickly foam up & then slowly level off, becoming two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, bone-white head with excellent retention. Color was an oh-so-slightly-hazy (unfiltered?) Straw-Yellow (SRM = > 2, < 4). The effect was either a scoop of vanilla ice cream in the tall, tapered glass or meringue atop lemon pie filling. Either way, it was a visual treat! Nose was redolent with the hay-like grassiness of Noble hops. Mmm. Mouthfeel was medium, but when CANpared to all of those watery Goses yesterday, this just felt really big. The taste was less bitter than I prefer in the style, blurring the lines between a BoHo Pils & a GER Pils, but it was not emphasizing the malts, either, which would have been ruinous. The grassiness was cut by a slightly fruity, blueberry-like flavor, which was both unexpected & quite pleasant. Finish was dry, crisp & refreshing, just the sort of thing to go into my beach-bound cooler some Summer, although most likely not this one. 8=( YMMV.

Poured from a 160z can with a barely legible date code that I think says 12/19/19 to a Nonic.
Light golden body with tiny bubbles rising throughout the session. A head of multi-sized bubbles, but... some sections of the foam have imperceptive small bubbles, like no head I have ever seen. Almost looks like whipped cream.
Fresh green grass meets the nose.
Sweet malt and prominent, but now over-board hops. Actually, based on the name I was expecting more hop flavor. Maybe the 4-months in the can attributes to this?
Mouthfeel is typical Pils, subtly oily, plenty of carbonation.
Nice variation without too much style departure. Someday maybe I'll get a fresh one.

Pours bright yellow with a bit of haze and a crackly, diminutive head. Floral, herbal, sea air hops and saltine crackers in the nose. The taste is hop forward with more fruity hop character than in the nose. Pineapple and lemongrass are in there. Plenty of chewy malts for balance. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with brisk carbonation. The finish is less dry than a usual Pilsner with a lot of fruity hop flavor.
An interesting take on a Pilsner but quite unorthodox in the hop department. Worth a try.

Minor head but it leaves a large number of streaks and spots. Light green hue to the pale golden color. Crystal clear.
The smell starts off like spilled beer, like a brewery floor. Mild hop spice to the nose.
The taste is a step up from the smell in that the pale pilsner malt comes across fresh and soft. Decent body for the style with an average level of carbonation. The finish features some bitterness but it's well-blended with the lingering malt sugars.

Tall can....canned a few weeks ago, but the info stamped on the bottom is all smudged up.
Pours light and clear, bubbles continuing to rise under a quickly departing light khaki mini cap.
Faint doughy nose
Meh, not as crisp and snappy as I would like in a Pils...malty and balanced but sadly on the rather dull side...would work in a pinch and might be a crowd/newbie pleaser kinda brew
