16 oz can from alexsergio, date unknown, poured into Odell Teku Snifter.
Deep cranberry red with a red whipped cream head of 1 finger. Lots of mossy head left on the top as it recedes.
Tons of tart cranberry, blackberry, raspberry, and a hint of sweet lactose. Very nice nose.
Whooooo. Puckering. Eye-twitching. Very sour, sour indeed. Lots of berry flavor action but mostly overshadowed by vinegar, hard stone mineral, and plain out sourness. Hint of cinnamon. I'd say, probably blueberries dipped in vinegar would most likely be the description of the hour.
Feel is starchy but creamy, nice tight hard carbonation, sticky berry sugars on the finish.
Overall, an artisan ale but definitely not my type. I can respect it but hey, tone down that sourness, would ya?

16oz. can into Night Shift stemware. Shared by schen9303
Looks like a fruit shake. Thick and densely colored. Nose is super juicy. Seedy with a hint of cinnamon, jam and sugar. Pretty mellow actually. Makes the mouth water. Beer opens super juicy. Like a liquified fruit roll-up. Notes of blackberry and strawberry. Some cinnamon. A seedy tartness towards the end with a puckering, sweet finish. Body is light with moderate to low carbonation. Filmy and oily on the palate. Goes down puckering with a messy, long, lingering aftertaste.
Pretty straightforward like the rest of the Sloop Jam series... but this one comes across as a big heavy and tiring on the palate.
