Open waters. It’s not just a slogan — it’s what's behind every beer we brew.
Featuring a rotating grain bill & rotating hops highlighting different regions of New York State, Grounded Roots is a hazy IPA that celebrates the craft & traditions of brewing — & the agricultural industry that makes it all possible.
This batch was brewed using Excelsior, a proprietary NYHG blend utilizing the most agronomically correct hops from across New York State to garner success for both farmers & brewers. Featuring notes of bright citrus & passion fruit.

As the BA who's adding this beer to the database here, I will supply the information that's on the can:
First, it describes it as a "NY IPA" - presumably because it's brewed with "New York Barley" and "New York Hops." There is no other mention of the hop variety (or varieties) used.
A: Poured into a tulip glass, the body is juicy/hazy darker golden with a foamy white head on top.
S: Good nose jumps out of the glass - sweeter tropical fruit with ripe nectarines and a hint of apricot. Modest earthy or grassy notes as well.
T: Good juicy tropical fruit flavors - ripe melon, papaya - and ripe fruit in general - peaches, apricots.
M: Loses a little bit here - it doesn't have that creamy/juicy feel that you want in a top tier NE IPA. Feels a little bit watered down. Carbonation is pretty much non-existent.
O: Good stuff. I've had better beers from Sloop, but I do like the flavor profile of whatever New York hops they've used on this one.
