We’ll admit it — we’ve violated the ol’ Reinheitsgebot a time or two (or three.)
But only when it’s worth it — only when the magic of the fermentation process is calling out for it, only when exploring the possibilities, only when trying to make bettert beer.
So you can keep your green dyes & food colorings. Here at Sloop, we like to celebrate St. Patrick’s day the old fashioned way — with a golden beer at the end of every rainbow.

From the 8 month old pint can, it pours a hazy light amber color with a nice white head that slowly reduces. Lacing. The nose gets a slightly off smelling citrus scent (don't think the aromatic hops age well..), followed by the mouth getting a slightly citrusy slightly sweet brew that has a mild aftertaste.

An easy drinking, in offensive IPA. Doesn't try to be anything crazy. Nice general mix of hops. Not particularly fruity or resinous. The only real downside is a fairly thin body. If more St. Patrick's Day beer b was like this, I'd be happy!

16oz can purchased from the fridge as a single for $3.49. No canned on date; this is a seasonal release for St. Patrick's Day, so it's easily four to five months old.
Look: Very hazy, turbid yellowish / light orange color. There was a finger or two of off-white head that reduced to a thin layer.
Smell: Very citrusy and pineappley up front, with some green notes as well. Lots of grapefruit. It also has some chalkiness and it is reminiscent of chewable vitamins.
Taste: This one goes down pretty easily. Surprisingly, it has very low bitterness. Up front, it has a nice juiciness with nice flavors of grapefruit, orange, and pineapple. It has a nice amount of acidity to make it juicy but not enough to make it sour. The finish is a bit grassy and green, with some herbal spiciness and a pithy bitterness. Some notes of the grapefruit seed oil also.
Feel: It has a light to medium mouthfeel, it's almost a bit watery. It has a soft, creamy body.
Overall: I like this quite a bit, and I'm not even tasting it when it's fresh. I like that it is balanced and it is not sweet. Apart from the chalkiness, it has no flaws.

A: The beer is very hazy pale whitish yellow in color. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that died down, leaving a narrow collar around the edge and some specks of lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Light aromas of lime citrus are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has additional notes of white grapes, mango and stone fruit. No bitterness is perceptible.
M: It feels medium-bodied, smooth and juicy on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This is an interesting take on a St. Patrick's Day beer and makes for a nice NEIPA.

A: Poured from the can into a Tree House tulip. Body is juicy and hazy in appearance, dark yellowish with a finger's worth of white head on top.
S: Good strong nose of juicy hops - tropical fruit (mango, papaya) and citrus (oranges, limes) - jumps from the glass into the ol'factory.
T: Good, but doesn't live up to the nose. More tropical fruit (mango, pineapple) and stone fruit (peach, underripe nectarine) than citrus - though there's a little bit of orange, and a decent amount of lemony bitterness. The more I drink it, the more I'm considering bumping the taste up in score.
M: Juicy, medium in heft. A little bit lacking in carbonation, but it's not slick, just a tad bit on the flat side of things.
O: Quite good; bumping up the overall score to a 4.5, as I'm digging this beer.

16 ounce can poured into a tulip glass. Canned on 2/16/22, so pretty fresh.
L---Hazy/murky bright gold color. One finger of white head faded down to a ring and left spectacular lacing. There were some yeasty floaters, not that there's anything wrong with that.
S---Strong fruit aromas. Mango, orange, peach, key lime.
T---Follows the nose, strong fruit taste. Mango, peach, orange, key lime. Very much a juice bomb.
F---Medium bodied, maybe a slightly airy feel. Well carbonated.
