A: Poured from the can into a Tree House tulip. Body is hazy golden with a thin white head on top.
S: Pretty good nose jumps out of the glass: white grapes/white wine (Hello, Nelson!) with a touch of dankness and a hint of under-ripe stone fruits (think apricot or plums).
T: Caveat: I don't love Nelson. And this one is big on the Nelson characteristics: white grapes, white grape skins and white wine all account for the first impression. There's also plenty of raw, "green" hoppy bitterness: think fresh grass and raw hop pellets. Lots of leafy dankness. If this is your preferred flavor profile, you will probably score it higher, but to me it comes across as a little "young" and raw, mixed with those Nelson characteristics that I don't quite love. Finishes with a raw, hoppy bite of bitterness. Lots of hoppy burps.
M: Decently juicy, but that raw hop profile makes it feel a bit chalky at times.
O: Good, not great. Definitely showcases the Nelson hop, and it's dank and green and bitter. My wife likes it better than I do.
