Sloop beer is good beer in my experience. This one is a little off the mark for me. I get a bit of a metallic bite and the bitterness is just a bit too much. The malt flavor is good but a little bit covered up by the strong hop flavor. Still it's a decent, classic NEIPA worth a try.

A: Poured from the can into a Tree House tulip. Body is turbid dark golden with a thin whitish head on top.
S: Good strong nose jumps out of the glass. Nice combo of sweetness and hops - sugar cookie dough malt and citrus (grapefruit, orange peel).
T: Loses steam with the flavor and feel - it's thin of body and even a bit watery. Slightly sweet malt foundation is followed by a touch of citrus (oranges, lemons). Good lingering hoppiness, but there's a minerally tang up front that counters the sweetness a little.
M: As noted above a little watery/thin, especially for a NEIPA. I think a little more heft in the body would help with the flavor profile. It is an easy drinker, however.
O: Decent. I've had better "Bombs" from Sloop, but this one is still solid.
