i didnt like this at all, a saison with kiwi fruit, a style these guys usually nail, and i was very excited to try it, but it really let me down. the fermentation has some funk to it, but its not a bretty thing, at least not in any favorable way, its sloppy to me, backyard buckety and kind of gross, sweaty, cheesy, and a little tangy, unappealing, like dirty laundry or something, and its like that in the flavor as much as in the nose, which is a shame, because the kiwi fruit i get through that is pretty natural, and its obvious, which it almost never is for me in beer, i think this would have some real promise if it was cleaned up, but i cant get past this messed up fermentation, not at all. murky looking and with a thick raw wheaty feel to it, despite being bubbly and light on the grain side of things in terms of flavor. some tang from the kiwi, a natural taste to it, and some light citrus too. this tastes like moldy bread or something, waterlogged bread that a duck forgot to eat in a stinky pond. i dont know what it is, but its a flaw to my palate. i hope to revisit this one when it has been brought to its full potential, but this was surprisingly bad in my experience, usually these guys are on point with this sort of thing...
