On tap into a tulip glass
A - Beer pours a deep garnet in color and is clear with light carbonation visible rising to the surface. A frothy light tan head adorns the top of the beer and is retained for quite some time, with minimal dissipation even by the time the beer is fully consumed. 4.25/5
S - The aroma is chiefly of dark stone fruit as well as toffee and molasses. Very dark aromas are featured with this beer. There are also a bit of piney hops although this is somewhat muted compared to the stronger fruit and sugary notes. 4/5
T - The sweetness of this beer reminds me somewhat of an Oktoberfest in it's rich malty sweetness. Outside of the malty sweetness there is dark stone fruit in the form of raisins as well as a bit of dark brown sugar. Piney hops finish out the flavor profile but really don't linger for any length of time. Rather, the malty sweetness lingers on the palate, albeit not cloyingly sweet. 4.25/5
M - Medium bodied beer that is very smooth throughout the profile and only a light amount of carbonation. Sits a bit heavier in the stomach than this brewery's other offerings but this is expected. 4/5
O - Very nice special offering from this brewery that my wife even enjoyed (she's not big into a high hop profile, instead preferring beers more along the lines of wheats or marzens). Very nice arrangement of flavors that were perfect for a cold day of tourist sightseeing. ABV is noticeable in comparison to other Czech brews but not enough to bother this American drinker. 4/5

I had a 0.3l bottle of this on my 02OCT13 visit. Cost was 65CZK, about $2.22.
Served in a small, chalice, it was a clear deep ruby-garnet color. A frothy, fluffy, light tan head topped things off. It sat long and well, and left behind excellent lacing. Aroma had some piney hops, oddly enough, plus some dark fruit action. Hmmm... Medium bodied, medium smoth; good mouthfeel.
It was an odd combo of flavors. Had some dark fruit like a Belgian dubbel, but also some citrus action. Throw in some subtle caramel sweetness, and then some currants and dates. Rindy hops at the end.. how bizarre. Still tasted decent, though it was a bit of a Frankenstein of a brew.... Prosit!
