Opaque black body with a tan head and ton of spotted lacing. Malt leads everything in a roasty yet sneaky sweet on the finish. Aromas joined to the malt include chocolate shavings, toasted caramel, dark nut, and a whisper of vanilla. Taste has cocoa, toasted caramel, tobacco, dark nut, earth and a kiss of char. Feel is lighter for the style, but the roast is pleasant, medium bodied with tempered dryness

On tap into a dimple glass mug
A - Beer itself is dark brown, almost black in color and cannot see through to gauge the level of carbonation. Head is 3 fingers high and frothy/creamy in appearance and takes forever to dissipate. 4/5
S - Good all around dark aroma. Toasted wheat bread, caramel, rich maltiness, slight earthiness, and a hint of grassy hops on the back end of the aroma round out the aroma notes. 4/5
T - The taste follows the aroma very nicely and showcases a dark toasted wheat bread along with a caramelized maltiness that lends a strong sweetness to the beer, not overly strong though. The middle tasting note is more of a chocolate and earthy flavor which is followed by a grassy finish that is somewhat bitter but the bitterness does not last in the mouth. 4/5
M - Medium body with a light carbonation burn. Sits in the stomach somewhat heavily but not overly so. Somewhat creamy with a nice smoothness to it. 4.25/5
O - Nicely balanced dark offering from Pivovar U Tri Ruzi which features a rich malty sweetness that is balanced out by a bit of earthiness and grassiness on the back half of the tasting profile. Very well executed all around beer. 4/5

Tap at the brew pub back when I was there, reviewed from my notes.
A: Another huge creamy 2+ finger head in a mug, fades slowly with nice lacing, just about pitch black beer.
N: Nice dark malts, powdered cocoa, cola nut, black malts, a little lactose, chocolate, slight toasty caramel, no lager to be found though.
T: Dark malts again, black malt, slight tin and roasted characters, bit of a smoked malt too, more creamy choc and dry powdered cocoa, some spicy earthy hop bitterness, slight fruity lager notes with, between the lager and the roasted malt I get a bit of tin. Finish is long fairly bitter slight spicy hop.
ML Med to fuller bod, little creamy, nice fluffy carb.
O: Pretty nice, tasty, good dark malts, hint of lager still there, decent hops coming through, just a touch of tin as maybe the only bad part.
