16oz can, dated 03.20.2025, poured into a 16oz tumbler glass. Enjoyed on 04.09.2025, reviewed from Tasting Journal.
The beer pours a nice cloudy golden straw color, light amber and orange hues, fizzy white head that has moderate retention and nice lacing. The aroma is pleasant, biscuity, pale dough, floral and herbal noble hop, green and earthy, fruity yeast and mineral water. The flavors are good, lots of pale cereal grain, fruity and floral yeast, herbal and grassy hop with a mineral water finish. The mouthfeel is good, coating and lively, vibrant medium body, smooth easy finish.
Verdict: A nice Kölsch from Begyle. Bright, clean, crisp, and refreshing.

16 oz can into a pint glass. Crystal clear deep golden color with a half-finger of white foam fed by a stream of bubbles from the bottom. Fairly sweet aroma -- honey and freshly baked bread. Mil herbal hop bitterness comes out more in the flavor but the honey sweetness remains most prevalent. Crisp and refreshing feel.

When your brewery is located a block away from Dovetail Brewery, producing a Kolch can be intimidating. However, Begyle holds its own with “Boat Shoes,” a clean crisp Kolch that is one of the brewery’s standards. Light yellow in appearance, slightly breast in flavor, this Kolch has the characteristics one would expect in this style of beer. 5% ABV makes this a drinkable session ale on a warm summer day.

Canned 3/8/23; drank 4/4/23 @ the Yarchives.
See-through dull orange appearance.
A rough pour yielded a nice white head; strong, frothy lace.
Soft wheat, honey & faint cream notes in the nose.
Medium mouthfeel.
Sourdough bread, mild honey & faint cream flavors. A nice Kolsch; I'd have another!
