Canned 5/21/21; drank 12/31/22 @ the Yarchives.
Black/brown appearance.
A violent pour yielded a small, noisy tan head which quickly dissipated; minimal lace.
Oak, whiskey, dark chocolate & faint Maraschino cherry notes in the nose.
Creamy, medium thick mouthfeel.
Oak, whiskey, marshmallow & dark chocolate flavors.
Boozy & wood-forward, but ultimately enjoyable.

12 ounce can into a snifter. 2021 edition, canned 5/21/21, had 5/30/21.
Pours near black and opaque, with no head and soapy cling. Aromas of roasted malt, caramel, rye whiskey, char, vanilla, oak, chocolate, light brown sugar and tobacco. Has a spicy aroma. The rye whiskey steps to the front in the flavor, then roasted malt, vanilla, oak, chocolate, some tobacco, light brown sugar. Also has a spicy flavor. Smooth, a solid but touch thinner full body, appropriately carbonated.
This best fully warmed. The barrels are excellent, and give up lots of spicy rye and wood. The feel is slightly thinner than the most recent bourbon barrel aged version, but not a biggie. Really enjoyable.
