16 ounce can into a pilsner glass. Canned 3/24/22, had 5/30/22.
Pours a mostly opaque dark brown, with a one and a half inch foamy head and a good amount of foamy lacing. Aromas of malt, caramel, dark bread, some chocolate, light oak- more as it warms. Has a little bit of a smoky smell. Flavors of malt, chocolate, some caramel and dark bread, light oak- again, as it warms. There’s some bitterness on the finish. Smooth, a very good medium body, well carbonated.
A solid example of the style, and the conspicuous oak presence enhances it. Very enjoyable.

The oak really comes through on the nose and tongue for this beer. It is definitely a sipper. More flavors come through as it warms up. Definitely get some fig and date flavor.

Canned 3/24/22; drank 4/14/22 @ the Yarchives.
Opaque brown/orange appearance.
A rough pour yielded a nice khaki head; nice lace.
Oak, mild caramel & faint walnut notes in the nose.
Medium mouthfeel.
Oak & mild caramel flavors; faint walnut notes on the finish.
Simple, easy to drink and very tasty. I'd have another!!
