12 ounce can into a snifter. Canned 5/20/22, had 6/18/22.
Pours near black and opaque with no head or lacing. Aromas of rye whiskey, malt, oak, vanilla, some chocolate, light tobacco and char, a bit of a spicy aroma. Similar flavors- rye whiskey, vanilla, malt, oak, some chocolate, light tobacco, a spicy taste. Smooth, a good, lighter full body that’s maybe stretched a little thinner by the barrels, appropriately carbonated.
This is certainly barrel forward, and what terrific barrels they are. Spicy rye , lots of vanilla and wood. The body bends, but doesn’t break. Thought this was really good.

Brewed in collaboration with Bottles & Cans.
Black/brown appearance.
A rough pour yielded a small tan head which quickly dissipated; minimal lace.
Buttery whiskey, oak & dark chocolate notes in the nose.
Medium mouthfeel.
Buttery whiskey, oak & mild cherry flavors.
The base beer is thin & not strong enough to stand up to the Rye Whiskey Barrel treatment here; it's just a booze bomb. Not one I'd recommend.
