Neighborly Stout--what we've dubbed a "Double Dry Stout"--is a collaboration with Chicago's Ork Posters to commemorate the opening of their retail shop, Neighborly. This stout drinks smooth and dry with a roasty backbone--like a good dry stout should.

Had on tap at Krafted in Elmhurst, poured into a 10oz snifter. Was not expecting a nitro beer: it wasn't on the menu description, but given the size of the pour for the price and the beer texture (waitress didn't know) it had to have been. It was still doing the Guinness cascade when it was handed to me. Opaque, brownish-black. Tan head 1/4-1/2 inch. Smells of roast, chocolate, and coffee. Taste similar to the nose: much more balanced than say Guinness coffee. Creamy feel and very delicious on a cooling summer night. Recommended. Would order again.

Sampled in a taster glass from cask at Firkin on August 23, 2019. The cask pour was the correct temperature but acme out even more flat than usual. I would like to try this from regular draft.

Had at The Northman Beer & Cider Garden, Chicago Riverwalk, on nitro draft into clear plastic pint beer cup.
Pours deep brown, golden-brown when backlit, with huge light-tan nitro head, pulling splotchy lace down the cup. Modest aromas of dry malt and noble hops. Begins with a little hop bite, then mild sweet chocolate and caramel, which carries into a drying mild roast malt finish.
Too light in color, but otherwise true to the style of an Irish Dry Stout, with chocolate deftly added without over-sweetening.

From old, undated notes. Poured from a bottle.
Dark brown hue.
Khaki head; minimal lace.
Milk & caramel nose.
Medium thick mouthfeel.
Milk & brown ale caramel; fairly smooth with a slight hop kick.
A nice easy drinker. Not really a stout but a strong brown ale.

Had it on nitro. Very smooth. Silky like a nice chocolate milk.
