12 oz. can, canned on 03/10/22, somehow a seven month old IPA slipped by the people at Binny's. Finally getting around to reviewing this one from Begyle Brewing Company, my first new beer from them in years, this one introduced to BeerAdvocate long ago in March of 2013. I remember when Begyle first began bottling beer, and I recall seeing this beer in bombers at the time.
Poured to a Ballast Point tulip glass.
A - Pours a nice sunset orange body, burnt sienna in the glass. One finger of frothy khaki head, looks bubbly, and leaves good spotty lacing.
S - The caramel character of the malts has pretty much taken this beer over. Earthy, leafy, herbal, not unpleasant, but any "pine" or hop character seems to have faded a bit.
T - Taste follows: earthy, herbal, leafy, lots of bready caramelized malts, hints of toffee, still lots of resinous hop bitterness on the finish. Notes of pine. I would have guessed Centennial or Cascade hops, but the notes say Citra and Simcoe.
M - Feel is smooth, crisp, medium-bodied & fairly easy drinking. Bitter & resinous on the finish.
Overall, a nice IPA that has held up well despite it's seven month age. Begyle puts out quality stuff, and I hope to seek out more new beers from them soon.

Pours a foggy dark orange, the small white head faded immediately, no lacing at all.
Snot factory sez pineapple, citrus and hops, taste buds got all that a nice bitter finish. Medium bodied, zilch carbonation. This was from a pick six and was about 100 days from canning. I think this would be really good fresh.....

Appearance: Pours a beautiful deep orange color that is robust.
Aroma: A bitter, tropical fruit aroma. Mostly melon and papaya.
Taste: An earth, bitter, tropical melon. Classic dark tropical mosaic flavors. Black tea presence. Dank and sweet candied-fruit. Subtle light pale malts. A strong boozy, bitter finish.
Feel: Surprisingly light to Medium-bodied, well carbonated. Not oily by any means. Finishes bitter.
Overall: A west-coast leaning IPA with a lighter body. Mosaic all the way here. Dank tropical melon and bitterness as Mosaic, but interestingly lighter and not oily. Some floral and honey. Little to no malt presence to hide the booze. Agree with previous review that it drinks more like an imperial IPA without the malt presence. Not necessarily a gem to seek out if you prefer dank and resiny beer, there are better out there. If you prefer lighter, juicier east-coast IPAs, there are out there. This one sort of splits the difference, but enough malts for a midwest mosaic IPA. Mosaic IPA. Nothing special here.

Bottled 12/29/15; drank 1/21/16 @ the Yarchives.
See-through orange appearance.
A rough pour yielded a nice eggshell head; strong, frothy lace.
Orange citrus, caramel & faint booze heat notes in the nose.
Medium mouthfeel.
Caramel & grapefruit flavors up front; mild trash water notes on the finish.
Something is wrong here; I'll never have another.

Yielded a nice head, with amber liquid. The flavor was predictably bitter, but (like the scent) also citrusy and reminiscent of pine. Not bad.
