Served in a shaker pint glass at the Mundelein Craft Beer Fest.
After being at least impressed by their collaboration effort with DryHop at Atlas a while back, I'm pleased to finally get to try some pure Begyle brewing. This stuff pours a clear golden-straw topped by a finger of off-white foam. The nose comprises mild grass, clean lager yeast water (trust me, it's a thing), light wheat, and some light flowers. The taste brings in more of the same, with a stronger vein of flowers and a very clean aftertaste. The body straddles the border between hefty light and light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a fluid feel. Overall, a pretty nice kolsch, one that doesn't try to do too much with the style, opting instead for a healthy cleanliness and balance.
