Archea Brewery “Hydra”
€3,25 / half pint at the brewery tasting room
Look: Hazy straw gold beneath a short head of bright white. OK head retention but very good lacing.
Smell: Notes of apple, citrus, woodiness (cedar, pine).
Flavor: Basic, gently sweetish golden malt with some orange, woodiness, and light pine. A stiff bitterness balances it and leads to a dry lingering bitterness with notes of woodiness and earth.
Feel: Medium bodied and crisp.
Overall: “Hydra” offers an interesting twist on the New England IPA with Chinook, Amarillo, and Sorachi Ace used to dry hop it.

A 400ml draft pour at the brewery tap in Florence. A hazy Amber colour with a off white head. Aromas of malt, grass & bread. Tastes of citrus, grain, malt & bread leading to a fairly bitter aftertaste. Not a beer I'd have a second off.
