473 mL can from the LCBO, included in Silversmith's Winter Mix Pack; dated Sep 9 2025 and served slightly chilled.
Pours a clear, pale straw yellow colour, producing an inch of lumpy, foamy white head that sizzles away within two or three minutes. A modest collar is left surrounding a filmy-thin cap, with a sparse smattering of patchy lace sticking to the glass; looks fine to me. The aroma is muted but otherwise inviting, offering up hints of grainy malts, white bread and grassy hops.
Good flavours - I'm getting clean, grainy pale malts & bready, crackery sweetness for the most part, augmented by notes of grassy, floral hops later in the sip. Maybe a hint of appleskin, too, concluding with bready malts and spiciness that linger briefly into the aftertaste. Light in body, with assertive carbonation that remains prickly throughout the session; crisp and smooth, with very good drinkability.
Final Grade: 3.7, a B grade. Silversmith's Helles Lager is a serviceable brew that I enjoyed, but it didn't necessarily leave much of an impression on me. The flavour profile is very much in line with what I'd expect from a helles, albeit a little rough around the edges compared to your average imported German offering. Furthermore, the mouthfeel's a bit thin for the style, and the nose was also kind of underwhelming - and to be clear, these are not dealbreakers (at least not for me). But they do tell the tale of a German lager that has some room for improvement. Worth a shot if you can find it.

Seen it today at the LCBO in Ontario looked new to me so I grabbed a couple cans at 473ml 4.7%.
Poured into glass with a 1 finger head good carbonation leaving a lace as you drink it, Sweet malt flavor easy to drink with a bitter finish.
Overall a good plain style Helles lager.
Cheers
