473 mL can from the LCBO; dated XX/18/2026 (I can't make out the month) and served barely chilled.
Pours a foggy golden-yellow colour, scaring up an inch of soapy, foamy white head that recedes within three or four minutes. A creamy collar of suds and a thin cap live on, with a new arcing pattern of lace drawn across the glass after each sip; looks fine to me. Bready, wheaty malts on the nose, with accents of banana, clove and orchard fruits; a bit straightforward, but appropriate for a hefe.
Not bad, but not great, either. Ripe banana flavours are immediately noticeable, alongside notes of bready malts, wheat and bruised apples. More banana on the back end, with citrus peel, clove spice and banana bread sweetness quickly dissipating into an off-dry aftertaste. Medium-light bodied, with relatively lively carbonation that brushes briskly across the palate. Easy enough to gulp back, but one serving per sitting seems sufficient.
Final Grade: 3.72, a B grade. SIlversmith's Wheat is a decent hefe, though I wouldn't say it displays the same level of complexity and finesse you'd get from most of its German competitors. That's not really a knock on this brewery, either - the Germans have been brewing these for way longer than anyone in Ontario, and it's tough for domestic brewers to create a weissbier of similar quality. If you're looking for a wheat beer to enjoy on the patio this summer, you could do much worse.

Poured a 473ml can into a pint glass. A two finger fine white head on a cloudy dark straw. The head soon diminished to a thin layer that sticks around. Some patchy lacing.
Esters and apple in the nose. Tastes of banana and ester right off the bat. Some spiciness. A dry finish.
A medium/light body and moderate carbonation. Overall a serviceable hefeweizen.
