*** 2018 GABF BRONZE for Imperial Stouts ***
A smooth, full-bodied stout that pours with a creamy brown head and a body of deep, dark black that is as mesmerizing as it is terrifying. Shimmergloom will take wing to the night sky, blotting out the shimmering stars like a shadowy dragon on its deleterious approach to burn your ramparts, crush your resistance and leave you wanting more.

Just had this beer and it is delicious. Creamy mouthfeel and strong malt aroma with a hint of alcohol. Sweetness and medium density with a small head that is tan, makes this a smooth beer. Enjoy! I sure did. Rated 4-1-2021 44 IBUs

Appearance: Pours espresso colored with a one finger beige head; decent retention and streaky lacing
Smell: Roast, ash and piney hops intermingle with Baker's chocolate
Taste: Hardly a hint of sweetness on the front end here as this stout's ashy, roasty flavors wash over the tastebuds; the mid-palate brings piney hop flavors and a subtle hint of chocolate; rather boozy in the finish
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body (surprising for 12%) with moderate carbonation; warmth in the gullet
Overall: A really agressive Impy stout; not my cup of tea as I prefer more balance but others may like this approach
Thanks, The_Gingerbeard_man, for the opportunity

16oz can split between a pair of WABL tasters. No date that I can see.
Pours black with a small head and not much carbonation. Smell is light, mild, a little roasted malt or coffee, a little yeast.
Taste is rich, roasty bitterness with a little chocolate sweetness.
Mouthfeel is medium and a little slick. Overall, pretty good beer.
