I have liked a number of North High products, but this one falls a bit short of expectations. I can't get past the funky taste.
It opens a bit dark for a hazy, presumably because it has 8% alcohol, kind of strong. The aroma is pretty powerful funk. The taste follows suit with a dry, metalic twang that doesn't work. It lingers in the aftertaste as something you don't want to have in your mouth.
Not recommended. This one is not for me.

Pours a cloudy yellow color with a 2 finger head that has some staying power-decent lacing.
Smell is sweet tropical fruits.
Taste is very sweet. Too sweet. The first 2 draws where pretty good but my god. One of the sweetest hazy beers I have ever had. I finished it but it wasn’t easy.
Mouthfeel is medium and smooth.
This has potential but jeez, the sweetness needs to be dialed way back. One and done for me.

12oz can poured into a tulip. Pours a hazy and cloudy yellowish golden; creamy white head that falls slowly leaving great thick retention and very sticky lacing. The aromas have a nice blend of citrus and tropical fruit. Malts are there. The flavors follow the nose. Lots of pineapple leading the way. Hints of orange and grapefruit. Some coconut in the mix. Some herbal notes along with some damp grass. Mild spiciness. Some alcohol notes, but in a good way. It's not hot, boozy or anything like that at all. Malts do their thing. Finished juicy. Mouthfeel is on the lighter side of medium-bodied with light carbonation. It's extremely fluffy and smooth.
This is a pretty nice "New England IPA". It's bold and better than many other examples of the style. North High has consistently done well with hops, and this brew is no exception. Well done. I really like it.
