The Kessel ESB was my first beer at Canal Park. It was served in a imperial pint. The beer is a dark bronze with a beige head.
Fresh, light aroma of grains, caramel and slightly perfumey hops.
It is slightly sweet with a bit nutty taste. There are caramel malts and a touch of bitterness. Nicely balanced. Not sure it is exactly to style as it may be a bit amped up at 5.5% and 34 IBUs but it works for me.
The mouth is smooth with low carbonation.

On tap at the brewery as part of a sampler tray.
Look rich caramel brown color
Smell sweet malty aroma
Taste sweet caramel flavor, strong dark malty notes, somewhat spicy
Feel smooth with balanced carbonation, a bit thin
Overall a solid interpretation of an ESB style
