This would be my go to lager all the time if it was consistantly and easily available. I have been very pleased with any beer that I have tried from this brewery.
But I particularly do love this lager. Clean, crisp and perfectly balanced.
Cheers Smartmouth!

From the label, just under the barcode: "CANNED ON 07 02 24"
This is from a 16oz can that was kept in cold storage when purchased.

Appearance: The body is a medium-light shade of gold with very good clarity. It only has the slightest bit of haze but that's only noticeable if you're looking directly through the glass with something behind it. The head is large and very fluffy with a pure white appearance. It has excellent head retention and lacing. The lacing are mostly a few wisps and spots that stick to the glass but they appear anytime the head touches the glass and they just stick around forever.

Aroma: There is a light hop aroma which comes across as a bit spicy and a touch herbal. There is a light aroma of sweet cereal grain that comes across just under the scent of hops. The overall aroma is light but very good.

Taste: Up front there is a light spicy hop flavor with a touch of lemon. Towards the middle there is a light bit of a woody flavor and it tapers into a slightly bitter herb character towards the back of the mouth. The slightly spicy hop character manages to stay on the tongue all the way across the palate.

Mouthfeel: It is a very clean feeling beer; it drinks easy with a somewhat crisp finish and the flavors bounce right off the tongue at the end of each sip. It has a hop bitterness which is slightly stronger than most other comparable lagers but it still manages to reign itself in just to the point where it becomes noticeable but not annoying.

Overall: This is a very outstanding beer. It has enough character to make it enjoyable to drink but it also knows when to pull back the flavor and bitterness so that it entertains the palate without dominating it. I really enjoyed drinking it and I'm glad I bought a 4-pack. I would highly recommend it to those who might be looking for a standard lager that is simple and just made well. I would definitely buy it again. I'm hoping I see this one at local events.

An OK lager from a good local brewery. Seven Cities refers to the 5 cities in South Hampton Roads and 2 in North Hampton Roads Virginia. Poured from a 16 oz can into a pint glass, this beer features a clear light gold color with a foamy bubbly white head the looks frothy after the bubbles settle down. Head retention is good and there are a few thick bands of lacing on the glass. Aroma and taste are clean more malty than hoppy with no unpleasant adjunct ingredients aftertaste. The bit of hoppiness present was mostly grassy hops. Mouthfeel was clean, crisp and light. While not overly flavorful, it goes down easy. Good with food.
