Confluence Brewing Company is nestled just beyond the tree line south of Gray's Lake, so it seems only proper to name a beer for this fantastic local park. Most have heard the tale of the Loch Ness Monster, but we have an ale just as tall... Our Gray's Lake Nessie gains its characteristic richness and deep mahogany color from a monstrous two hour boil. The addition of East Kent Golding hops balances the sweetness and a cool fermentation period with proper Scottish ale yeast calms our beloved Nessie from terrifying tale to friendly legend. The resulting homage to our local lake monster is as smooth as the fog on Gray's Lake in the morning. Raise a pint and soothe your inner beast!

On tap at St. Burch. Brownish red with nice head. Smacks you with complexity, I really enjoyed it on a cold night.

A medium bodied Scottish ale that's sweet, nutty and smooth. There's no aftertaste....at all. It might be the type of hops but it does have a fragrant mossy smell to it. Very pleasant beer. This beer is much older than it's years. Low carbonation. If you are looking for a historically accurate Scottish ale, this brunette beauty may be a top contender.

Not a bad Scottish ale, some caramel malty sweetness with a good amount of roast. Very lightly Smokey but it is there. Overall, it’s a solid Scottish, I’ve had better but I’d happily drink it again.

16oz can. Poured out a murky, light brown color with an off-white head of foam. It smelled of coffee, roasted malt, subtle smoke and caramel. Roasted coffee taste with smoke and sweet toffee.

This stuff is awesome! If you like coffee, you will love this beer. The smell is like a nice fresh brewed pot of coffee. Very dark for an ale, almost stout worthy. The flavors are complex and it burns your palate. Will definitely drink .more of this!

One of my favorites from Confluence. Wonderfully executed Scottish ale, full of flavor without burning your palate.
