One of my favorites from Confluence. Wonderfully executed Scottish ale, full of flavor without burning your palate.

In Des Moines for business this week, I picked up a growler at Hy-Vee - I've never seen growlers at a grocery store before - great to have that option.

Poured into a new pint glass I received for Christmas, it has a good bit of tan head atop a pretty dark brown and red Scottish. Not much light is getting through, except around the edges.

Grainy and malty on the nose, a little bit dank, somewhat metallic.

Malty, but in a reduced role from some other Scots I've had - not nearly as heavy as I'd hoped.
