Traditionally, a Saison should be enjoyed as a respite from the heat after a hard day’s work. Created as an homage to the simple-but-elegant Saison DuPont by our farm-boy-turned-head-brewer, John Martin, our Saison Des Moines certainly fits that mold. But, as craft brewers push the boundaries of tradition, so have we pushed this Saison out of its season with the addition of tart cranberries and spruce tips. We think you'll find that this non-traditional Saison evokes the taste and feeling of the holidays. Please enjoy this beer with friends and loved ones in this season of togetherness. From Confluence Brewing to you and yours, happy holidays!

This one looks like a gimmick, all bright pink and fizzy but the aroma is balanced fruit and yeasty esters with delicate nuances of herbal spruce. The flavor really wows with tart cranberry, funky saison notes and earthy evergreen spruce all evenly speaking up. Mouthfeel is sour and dry. Really a great beer.

Aroma is cranberries, spruce/mint, malts and a hint of spices. The flavor is cranberries, spruce/slight mint, malts and a mildly spicy Belgian yeast finish.
