One of the most relaxed, friendly, and welcoming members of the Confluence family, Sam Spitler, has been a fixture of our taproom since 2014. In that time, she’s poured countless pints, carted hundreds of kegs and cases out to thirsty patrons, and generally dazzled and delighted everyone who crossed our threshold. Of course, even Sam needs to recharge her batteries from time to time, and when she came to us with the idea for the perfect backyard getaway beer we knew we had to brew it in her honor. We’ll leave it to her to tell you all about it: “When the summer heat has you dazed and in a haze, just wrap your hands around this thirst quenching, mojito-inspired radler."

Poured from a pounder into a clear Solo cup. Dull copper-amber in color, with a thin white head that settled rapidly to a layer of what appeared to be pond scum. This stuff is nearly unpalatable when cold. As it warms a bit, however, some of the character starts to pop through. Big flavors of lime and mint up front, alongside notes of juniper and botanicals. Medium bodied, with a slightly oily and bitter finish. I could easily imagine that this contained gin, based on the flavor profile. Overall, an interesting beer.
