(Yellowstone, Grant Village, July 21 2014) Full notes taken on computer during consumption.
A- 16oz tallboy can poured into two small glasses at the hotel with a slightly hazy deep golden body. A fizzy white head rises up to only about half a finger and it falls fairly fast to a tiny ring. Lacing only comes in the form of a few spots on the glass.
S- Lager yeast and grains are the most prominent things of the aroma with a heavy bready feel. Somewhat buttery with notes of light fruits, yeast bread, pale cracked Pilsner grains and cereal. Quite a bit of lager yeast.
T- Things seem to shift quite a bit here for me. Hops come out with a spicy Noble hop feel you would find in German lagers. The base flavor is a mix of yeast bread, light fruits, pale cracked grains, cereal, lemon citrus and fruit esters.
MF- Fairly light bodied with a texture between foamy and fizzy with plenty of texture to keep it from light lager watery. Carbonation at a high level but the foaminess pads the taste buds. Finishes with a decent bitterness for a lighter lager.
A solid Pale Lager with enough of a Noble hop flair to keep it from falling short. Yeasty but balanced out nicely by the light grains and hops in the finish. A solid craft option to be marketing towards mostly tourists at Yellowstone.
