A: pitch black, quickly fading caramel/khaki colored head
S: chewy, chocolate and roasty character with hints of wood and a certain tannic character (I like the notes, I wish they were stronger)
T: the sharp tannic note is up front, along with the more subdued but pleasant (and expected) roasty coffee notes along with bitter chocolate, the vinous bite hangs on the tongue for a bit too long
M: smooth and slick
O: this is a solid offering and one that could be improved upon. The port presence is quite strong here, maybe a bit too much, but almost just right. The port barrel is a good idea. Try it if you can find it

Wonderful brew. Takes on a slight berry wine taste as it warms up.
