Had at The Ordinary in New Haven on 6/18. Poured into a snifter glass it's an amber color, fairly cloudy, and has a pillowy two finger head that doesn't seem to die down.
Smell is pretty typical saison, light malts backed up by a prominent yeast spiciness along with a bit of caramel sweetness. Flavor is pretty similar, pretty big punch of sweetness first, middle is all yeast and spice, finishes dry and funky with the lightest hint of smoke that you really have to dig in to notice.
Overall I was expecting more smoke so I guess I was pleasantly surprised by this. Honestly if you told me this was just an earthy saison I would have never realized it was a smoked beer by any means.

32oz growler from Beer'd. Pours a pale brownish Amber color with half an inch of head. Minimal lacing. First whiff is a big amount of smoked applewood. Slightly meaty with some char and green apples. The taste is yeasty with tart apples and some of the smoked malt lingering in the background. Funky at times with some earthy flavor. Apples at the finish. Crisp mouthfeel and very drinkable with a mild amount of carbonation. Not as much smoke flavor as one would expect in the nose but it blends in nicely. Interesting twist on a Saison that would be a great beer for drinking around the campfire.
